Legal
Terms of Service
Last updated October 14, 2026. Draft for legal review.
The short version
- You keep every right to your writing. We use it only to give you your analysis.
- Prosemetry describes writing. It doesn’t grade it, and it doesn’t write for you.
- Paid plans renew monthly, and you can cancel any time.
1. Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and P8 Analytics, LLC (“Prosemetry”, “we”). By using Prosemetry you accept them, along with our Privacy Policy. If you use Prosemetry for a school or organization, you confirm you’re allowed to accept these terms for it.
2. What Prosemetry is
Prosemetry analyzes the writing you upload. It measures patterns, shows where readers may work harder, and offers questions and techniques for revising. It never rewrites your text. Its results are descriptions, not grades. They’re not a judgment of quality, they’re not academic or professional advice, and they don’t guarantee any outcome.
3. Accounts
- You can try the free plan without an account. Paid plans need one.
- You must be at least 13. If you’re under 18, use Prosemetry with a parent’s, guardian’s or school’s permission.
- Keep your password private. You’re responsible for what happens under your account.
- During invited testing, creating an account needs an invite code.
4. Your writing
You own what you upload and everything you write in the Workspace. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide Prosemetry to you, including showing your results to you and keeping them for as long as your plan does. We don’t use your writing for any other purpose, and the permission ends when you delete it. Upload only writing you have the right to use.
5. Fair use of the service
Please don’t:
- upload anything unlawful, or anything that infringes someone else’s rights;
- try to get around plan limits, for example with multiple free accounts or automated requests;
- probe, overload or disrupt the service, or try to reach other people’s documents;
- copy, resell or reverse-engineer Prosemetry’s measures, models or pages.
Using Prosemetry to study and revise your own writing fits academic honesty rules. Whether a particular use is allowed in your course or workplace is for you to check.
6. Plans, payment and cancellation
- Plan limits (words per document, analyses per day or month, how long results are kept) and features are shown on your Account page. We may change the free plan at any time. We’ll give paid subscribers at least 30 days’ notice of any change that reduces what their plan includes.
- Paid plans renew each billing period (monthly, or yearly where offered) until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for. If you’re not happy, write to hello@prosemetry.com within 14 days of your first payment for a full refund. Later renewals aren’t refunded.
- Prices include or exclude tax as shown at checkout.
7. Testing period
Prosemetry is still being built. Features may change, and some may be unavailable at times. We work to keep your documents safe, but please keep your own copy of anything important.
8. Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time from your Account page. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. We’ll tell you why, unless the law or security prevents it, and give you a chance to download your data first, except in cases of serious abuse.
9. No warranties
Prosemetry is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suited to a particular purpose, or that its measures are accurate for every kind of writing.
10. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, grades, income or opportunities. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid Prosemetry in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50 if that’s more. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that the law says can’t be limited.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top. We’ll email account holders about significant changes at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Prosemetry after that means you accept the new terms.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas. Disputes go to the courts there, unless the law of the place where you live as a consumer gives you the right to bring them at home.
