What we don’t do with your writing

Who else handles your information

We use a small number of service providers, each only for the job named here:

We share information with others only if the law requires it, and then only what it requires. If Prosemetry is ever sold or merged, this policy continues to protect what we hold, and we’ll tell you before anything changes.

Cookies

Prosemetry sets one cookie, prosemetry_session. It keeps you signed in, or, without an account, connects you to the analyses you started in that browser. It’s essential for the site to work, so we don’t ask for consent. It lasts up to 180 days or until you sign out. The site also remembers a few preferences in your browser’s own storage, such as your place in a document. That information stays on your device. We use no analytics, advertising or social media trackers, and our fonts are served from our own server.

Your choices and rights

Where the GDPR applies, we process your information to provide the service you asked for (contract), to keep the service secure and fair (legitimate interests), to meet legal duties, and, for the update emails, with your consent.

Security

The site uses HTTPS everywhere. Passwords are stored only in hashed form. Each analysis can be opened only by the account or browser that created it. We don’t keep separate backup copies yet. When we add them, deleted information will leave them within 30 days.

Children and students

Prosemetry isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has used Prosemetry, write to us and we’ll delete it. Students from 13 to 17 should use Prosemetry with a parent’s, guardian’s or school’s permission. Schools that want to use Prosemetry with their students can contact us about an agreement covering student records.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information we already hold, we’ll tell account holders by email before it takes effect.
